Hands-on Activity: Practice Chat
Contact the Special Projects Librarian, Jaclyn McKewan at jmckewan@wnylrc.org or (716) 633-0705 ext 108, to schedule a practice chat. She will enter the chat as a patron and pose some typical questions that you may get. Review the transcripts afterward, and compare it with "Components of a Quality Chat" on page 23 of the the Ask Us 24/7 Training Manual. Check to see that you followed the necessary behaviors, and look for any places where you can improve when doing a real chat.
